DarkStar Intelligence LLC respects the privacy of applicants and candidates. This Applicant Privacy Notice explains how DarkStar collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information submitted through its careers page, recruiting platform, recruiters, job boards, referrals, and other recruitment activities.
Information We May Collect
- Name, address, telephone number, email address, and other contact information.
- Résumé, employment history, education, certifications, professional licenses, skills, references, and salary expectations.
- Information concerning work authorization, availability, preferred work location, and willingness to travel or relocate.
- Information relevant to government contract requirements, including citizenship or security clearance status, when legally permitted and required for the position.
- Interview responses, recruiter notes, assessments, and communications concerning your application.
- Voluntary self-identification information concerning disability or protected veteran status when collected as required for federal-contractor compliance.
- Information needed to conduct background, employment, education, credential, or security-related checks after obtaining any authorization required by law.
- Technical information generated when you use the careers website, such as IP address, device type, browser information, cookies, and website activity.
Please do not include Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical records, classified information, export-controlled information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in your résumé or initial application.
How We Use Applicant Information
- Receive, review, and evaluate applications.
- Communicate with candidates and schedule interviews.
- Determine whether applicants meet position, customer, contract, citizenship, and security clearance requirements.
- Conduct authorized background or credential checks.
- Make and administer employment offers.
- Consider candidates for current or future opportunities.
- Provide reasonable accommodations.
- Meet federal-contractor recordkeeping, affirmative-action, audit, and reporting obligations.
- Protect DarkStar’s systems, personnel, applicants, customers, and legal rights.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and government requirements.
How Information May Be Shared
- DarkStar employees involved in recruiting, Human Resources, management, information technology, legal, security, or contract administration.
- Recruiting platforms, applicant-tracking systems, background-screening providers, technology vendors, and other service providers supporting the hiring process.
- Government customers, prime contractors, security officials, or authorized agencies when required for contract eligibility, staffing approval, credentialing, facility access, or security processing.
- Government authorities, regulators, auditors, courts, or law-enforcement agencies when required or permitted by law.
- A successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable law.
DarkStar does not sell applicant personal information for monetary compensation.
Voluntary Self-Identification Information
Any disability or protected-veteran self-identification information requested for federal-contractor compliance is voluntary. Declining to provide it will not subject an applicant to adverse treatment.
When collected, this information is maintained separately from materials used to evaluate qualifications and is accessed only as authorized or required by law.
Retention
DarkStar retains applicant information for the period reasonably necessary to complete the recruiting process, consider candidates for other positions, comply with federal-contractor recordkeeping requirements, resolve disputes, and meet other legal or contractual obligations. Information is securely deleted or de-identified when it is no longer required, subject to applicable retention rules.
Information Security
DarkStar uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect applicant information. However, no online system or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Third-Party Recruiting Platforms
DarkStar may use Paylocity or another third-party applicant-tracking platform to receive and manage applications. Information submitted through an external platform may also be governed by that provider’s privacy notice and security practices. Applicants should review the privacy notice presented by the platform before submitting information.
Applicant Choices and Questions
Applicants may contact DarkStar to request access to or correction of their applicant information, withdraw from consideration, or ask a privacy-related question. Requests will be evaluated and processed as required by applicable law.
